NCRI Supporters: Iran Embassies Act As A Cover For Terror Plots In EU

NCRI supporters: Iran embassies act as a cover for terror plots in EU

NCRI supporters gathered in Shuman Sq. in Brussels in front of the EU Headquarter on Monday, Nov. 19,

2018. They demanded EU to acknowledge that the regime of Iran is a terrorist regime.

NCRI supporters demanded a decisive reaction to the regime’s terrorist acts

Iranian resistance supporters addressed EU and called for serious measures regarding the wave of terrorist plots in Europe masterminded by the Iranian regime.
NCRI supporters pinpointed these plots as serious threats for the European citizens and global security.
the NCRI supporters underscored “Iranian embassies act as a cover for the planning and execution of terrorist operations in Europe.”

They added: “In the past few months, an Iranian diplomat has been arrested and others have been expelled from France and the Netherlands for their involvement in terrorist plans. That is why we are calling for the closure of Iranian embassies on European soil and the expulsion of all Iranian terrorist diplomats.”
NCRI supporters cited: “Albania, France, and Denmark have fortunately foiled terrorist plots of the Iranian regime on their soils, but these plots cannot stay without the answer. We urge for more pressure and for sanctions against Iran regime.
The demonstrators recalled that on October 30, the Danish intelligence services accused Tehran of preparing an attack against three Iranians residing in Denmark.
They also pointed to a joint statement by three ministers of France, stating: “An attempted attack in Villepinte was foiled on June 30. An incident of such gravity on our national territory could not go unpunished.”
The protesters also denounced the EU’s silence on the “massive human rights violations” and “waves of executions” in Iran.
It is to be mentioned that on Nov. 15, 2018, The Third Committee of UN General Assembly condemned the human rights violation in Iran by adopting the related resolution sponsored by Canada.
In this resolution, the committee has expressed its concern over the high number of executions, dire prison conditions, torture and arbitrary arrests in Iran.

EU choosing Iran over the US is illogical, to say the least

European Unoin flags

Following the U.S. President Donald Trump’s decision to exit from the highly flawed Iran nuclear deal, formally known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), the European Union is striving to somehow safeguard the pact. EU’s main objective appears to be further normalizing trade and economic relations with Tehran.
This is already sending influential signs to other global parties, indicating the EU has chosen to side with the Iranian regime and not the U.S., and as a result not the Iranian people. While the Trump administration is reinstalling sanctions against the mullahs’ regime and warns further and more effective measures are in the making, Brussels continues to only take its short-term economic benefits into consideration.
U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo – making significant noise recently with four tweets focusing on the Iranian regime in a mere 36 hours – specifically made it clear that Tehran would come under the “the strongest sanctions in history” if the mullahs refuse to alter their Middle East behavior that is wreaking havoc across the region.
The attempts made by the EU are unprecedented, as the bloc is seen appeasing the mullahs’ demands by succumbing to their economic and political demands. Iranian regime Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei is clearly listing new conditions for Tehran to remain loyal to the deal. Needless to say the regime’s Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi has recently described the JCPOA as being in ICU and hinting the regime will likely be exiting the deal within weeks.
Khamenei has gone as far as demanding Europe to guarantee “Iran’s oil sales will not suffer, Tehran would resume enrichment activities that are currently prohibited.”
Certain is the fact that the EU will be considering the benefits of siding with Iran, while going against Washington’s wishes and being left to face the consequences. It goes without saying that the Green Continent’s relations with the U.S. is of strategic importance.
This political miscalculation by the EU will most definitely render significant setbacks for the bloc as the Trump administration remains steadfast on its firm policy vis-à-vis Iran’s rogue regime.
Unfortunately, what EU leaders are failing to understand is the fact that such a policy of siding with Tehran plays into the hands of Iran’s mullahs, causing a rift between the EU and the U.S.
Instead, the EU should be holding Iran’s mullahs responsible for their human rights violations at home and regional ambitions that has left millions in numerous countries suffering in misery.
Knowing the EU considers its partnership with the U.S. very dire, and the dismal $25 billion annual trade relation with Iran’s regime is nothing in comparison to the $600 billion exports to the US., the outcome is quite palpable.
Obvious is the fact that the EU’s interest lies in siding with the U.S., geopolitically, strategically, militarily and economically speaking.

United States says risks remain for those considering doing business with Iran

EU is considering new sanctions on Iran

The United States on Tuesday welcomed reports that the European Union was considering new sanctions on Iran and said risks remained for those who were pondering doing business with the Islamic Republic.
“There continue to be ongoing risks with doing business there because the Iranians have not
reformed their system,” Under Secretary of the Treasury for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence Sigal Mandelker said.
Mandelker, speaking in London, said Iran was using the money to support Hezbollah, Hamas and Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. She said there was no transparency in the Iranian banking system.
“The onus of responsibility lies in Iran and we’re going to continue to highlight the risks of doing business there because they haven’t taken the actions that they have promised they would take,” she said.
Mandelker also said she would be discussing with European allies how to disrupt North Korean efforts to evade sanctions.
She added that she looked forward to continued close working with Britain on sanctions against Russia.

EU Calls for Response to 'Yet Another Chemical Attack' in Syria

The evidence points towards yet another chemical attack by the regime the EU said

The evidence points to the use of chemical weapons by Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's forces against a besieged rebel-held town in Syria, the European Union said on Sunday, calling for an international response.
'The evidence points towards yet another chemical attack by the regime,' the EU said in a statement. The EU disregards, in Iran

EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini greets Iranian President Hassan Rouhani. Tehran, 5 August. [European Commission]

Federica Mogherini should be asked how she manages to continue relations with the Iranian officials despite reports of Tehran’s declining respect for human rights, writes Hamid Bahrami.
Hamid Bahrami is a former political prisoner from Iran. Based in Glasgow, he is a human rights activist and works as a freelance journalist. Bahrami tweets at @HaBahrami.
The formal inauguration ceremony of Rouhani’s second presidential term was held earlier this month. The High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Federica Mogherini, attended the event as a special guest.
The Italian Commissioner is known to be one of the EU officials who supports a policy of appeasing the Iranian regime.
The EU’s foreign policy chief also met President Hassan Rouhani, Foreign Minister Javad Zarif and the Foreign Policy Advisor of the Supreme Leader, Ali-Akbar Velayati.
Mogherini’s presence at the ceremony sends a shameful message and gives a green light to the Iranian government to continue its suppression of human rights in the country.
Economically, it is a fact that Iran presents a tempting opportunity for the EU. But aside from Iran’s malign actions in the Middle East and continued support for terrorism, one should ask the following question: Is the EU concerned about the human rights situation in Iran?
In reality, the EU has never put serious pressure on the Iranian government over human rights. Experts, human rights activists and members of the Iranian opposition have consistently asked the EU to make any economic relations with the regime in Tehran contingent upon verifiable improvements of the human rights situation and an end to executions, but the EU has always preferred trade.
It is a fact that since the revolution in 1979, the Iranian people have suffered greatly due to systematic human rights violations by the government.
In its new 90-page report Caught In A Web Of Repression, Amnesty International describes and documents a vicious crackdown on human rights activists under President Rouhani. The report draws the conclusion that the “Iranian authorities laid the foundations of a repressive state apparatus,” revealing the catastrophic human rights situation in the country.
One particular case in this regard, among many highlighted in the Amnesty report, is that of Maryam Akbari-Monfared, who is serving 15 years in prison on bogus charges.
According to Amnesty International, Akbari-Monfared is facing additional hardship in prison for filing a formal complaint to seek justice over a 1988 massacre in Iran in which tens of thousands of political detainees, a majority from the opposition, the PMOI, were executed en masse in prisons across the country.
Indeed, during the massacre, two of her siblings were executed. The Iranian government has punished Ms Akbari-Monfared by denying her medical treatment vital to her health and by threatening to stop her family visits.
The activist’s courage has given momentum to the global campaign calling for an end to the impunity and prosecution of the perpetrators of this horrific massacre.
The experience of Hassan Rouhani’s first term in office shows that there is a correlation between a policy of appeasement and an increasing number of executions and public hangings in Iran. This fact was proven in 2015 when nearly 1000 persons were executed in the country exactly as the world powers were negotiating a nuclear deal with Tehran.
Federica Mogherini should indeed be asked how she managed to persuade herself to continue relations with the Iranian officials despite constant reports of the deteriorating human rights situation and an increasing number of hangings in the country.
Considering the regime’s weak position in both domestic and foreign affairs, it is high time to pressure Iran to improve its respect for human rights.
Today, human rights defenders in Iran are in a grievous condition. They are the primary victims of the EU’s policy of appeasing the mullahs.
To end this crisis, oil traders must recognise and acknowledge the right and need to defend human rights in Iran.
